Park received his Ph.D. from Texas A&M University in computer science in 1997. He joined the department in 1999.

Park's research is focused on Computer Architecture; Testing/Diagnosis; Fault Tolerant VLSI; Performance Modeling and Simulation; Reliability; Clockless Circuits and Systems; Embedded HW/SW Co-Reliability; Reliable Digital Image Sensor Design; System-on-Chip; MCM; FPGA; and Nano-Computer. Also, he is interested in Parallel/Distributed Computing, Mobile Computing, Spacecraft On-Board Computing, and Aircraft Maintainability/Reliability.
