Faculty Search
Applications are invited for an anticipated full-time, tenure-track Assistant Professor position.
The term of initial appointment will begin in September, 2012.
The Oklahoma State University (OSU) Computer Science Department is seeking applications from qualified candidates with teaching and research experience in any area of Computer Science. A Ph.D. or D.Sc. in Computer Science or a closely related area is required. The position being sought is for the Stillwater campus and duties may be assigned to either Stillwater or Tulsa campuses or both.
The OSU Computer Science Department is a growing department that is committed strongly to the goal of excellence in research, teaching, and extension. It offers a full range of undergraduate and graduate courses leading to B.S., M.S., and Ph.D. degrees in Computer Science. The department also offers courses to students at remote sites using interactive video and the World-Wide Web. There are currently more than 140 undergraduate students and more than 120 graduate students enrolled in the department.
Stillwater is a small, attractive university city of about 50,000, located on the prairie in north-central Oklahoma. Stillwater is 65 miles north of Oklahoma City and 65 miles west of Tulsa, which are both large cities that regularly host touring Broadway shows, and have their own opera, ballet, and philharmonic orchestra. There are numerous cultural activities within a two-hour drive of Stillwater. The Oklahoma State University campus is one of considerable beauty with modified Georgian architecture.
